A commercial cabling fit-out has more failure modes than a residential job. Wrong cable type. Untested runs. Cable laid in proximity to power without separation. A rack that looks like spaghetti within 18 months. We’ve stripped out enough cheap fit-outs to know what cuts corners and what doesn’t.
What’s in scope
Structured cabling (typically Cat6A) from outlets to the comms room. Server rack supply, install, dressed bundle, patch panel, cable management. Fibre between racks or buildings (OS2 single-mode standard for most jobs). UPS install if you need one. Wireless AP positioning and cabling drops to ceiling-mounted access points. Coordination with the electrical and HVAC contractors so penetrations, dado lines, and floor boxes are correct.
We do not supply the network gear (switches, routers, firewalls) — that’s usually scoped through your IT provider — but we’ll cable to wherever they need it and label so the install is clean on their side.
How we run it
Site visit first, free. We walk the floor with the architect’s drawings, mark where outlets and floor boxes need to be, and quote in writing within 48 hours. Quote is fixed. Variations get quoted before any extra work happens.
Most commercial fit-outs we run after hours — Saturday installs are common — so business doesn’t stop. We coordinate access with building management at the quote stage, not the day of.
What you get when we hand over
Fluke DSX certification report for every run. OTDR test results for fibre. Patch panel diagram, labelled at both ends. Photo of the rack with cable bundle dressed. 2-year workmanship warranty.
Most of our office work comes from architects and IT providers who’ve worked with us before. If you want to talk to one, ring us and we’ll put you in touch.
